The initial Rooted Together OT session is focused on gathering information and assessment. This appointment gives the therapist an opportunity to get to know your child and better understand your concerns. The assessment may include a combination of standardized and non-standardized tools to explore your child’s strengths and areas of need related to fine motor skills, gross motor skills, and sensory processing. Based on the assessment findings and a collaborative discussion with you, therapy goals are then developed together.
At Rooted Together Pediatric OT, intervention is guided by goals we identify together with families and grounded in evidence-based practice—whether that’s supporting feeding and mealtime experiences, play, movement, or everyday participation. Through playful, hands-on activities, we support skills such as dressing, writing, moving, regulating emotions, and engaging in meals. We partner closely with parents and caregivers to ensure strategies feel practical and meaningful, and can be naturally carried into home, school, and community routines—because children thrive when their families are supported every step of the way.
