Fine Motor Skills

Fine motor skills are the small, precise movements of the hands and fingers that children need for feeding themselves, getting dressed, drawing, cutting, and eventually writing. When these skills are hard, even simple daily tasks can feel frustrating for both children and caregivers.

We support children who are:

  • Having difficulty with self-feeding, using utensils, or managing cups
  • Struggling to manage buttons, zippers, or other fasteners when dressing
  • Finding drawing, colouring, or pre-writing activities challenging
  • Working on building hand strength, grip, and coordination

We work closely with you as a caregiver to make sure the strategies we use in sessions translate into your real daily routines — mornings, mealtimes, and everything in between.

Gross Motor Skills

Gross motor skills involve the larger movements your child makes every day — rolling, sitting, crawling, walking, climbing, jumping, and running. When these skills are delayed or feel effortful, it can affect how your child plays, participates at school, and keeps up with peers.

We support children who are:

  • Taking longer than expected to reach movement milestones
  • Struggling with balance, coordination, or body awareness
  • Finding physical play — climbing, jumping, or running — difficult or tiring
  • Working on building core strength and stability for everyday activities

Our approach is playful and child-led. We meet your child where they are, building strength and confidence through movement that feels natural and fun — not like hard work.
